Action Alert: HB 1764 / SB 5578 - $25 Minimum Wage - We NEED You

We need your immediate action on HB 1764 / SB 5578, which proposes a $25 minimum wage and paid time off (PTO) Mandates. This bill has the potential to impact our industry significantly, and it is crucial that our voices are heard in opposition.  The hearing is Tuesday, February 11th at 10:30am

These bills mandate a Minimum Wage Increase to $25/Hour by 2031 starting January 1, 2026. Additionally, employers are mandated to provide paid vacation & bereavement leaves by 1/1/2028. Employers’ right to manage leave is uncertain until L&I issues rules.

There are four ways you can make a difference today:

  1. Join us in person at the State Capitol in Olympia on Tuesday, February 11th at 10:00 am to voice your opinion. If you are interested, please email brenda@nwautocare.org
or call (253) 653-2334. We can carpool together to make the trip more convenient.
Please let us know if you would like to join us in-person.

The most effective action is coming to the Capital in person. Parking is very limited. Carpool and come early. You may have to walk quite a few blocks. Here is the Capitol Campus Map.

  2. Sign-In to express your position – Let them know how this bill will affect your business and the industry as a whole. It's vital they hear from you directly.

  3. To Testify Remotely to the committee members reviewing the bill.

  4. Submit a written testimony - by Tues 2/11 at 10:30am

Share this message with other business owners in the area. The more of us who speak up, the stronger our impact will be.

We can’t overstate how important this bill is for our industry. Please take action, whether by attending the rally, reaching out to your representatives, or encouraging others to join the effort. Our collective voices will make the difference.

Thank you for your continued support!
